Guidance for reporting organisations
This guidance is for organisations that are required in their funding agreements to report on their emissions and develop a carbon management plan. These organisations are currently Creative Scotland multi-year funded organisations and organisations receiving revenue funding from the City of Edinburgh Council’s Culture Service.
All organisations are sent a survey to complete annually. The survey covers emissions reporting, carbon management planning and adaptation. Each year, organisations are advised via email when the survey for reporting emissions data opens and given a deadline to complete it.
Support to complete survey
Guidance on carbon management planning and emissions reporting is available below. It covers each section of the environmental reporting survey, explaining how to answer each question and giving the reasoning behind why you are being asked to provide each data point. It also directs you to any online resources that can help with your response and offers the technical guidance you may require to complete the response.
Please note that the following information relates to the 2024 survey. The survey for 2025 is currently being finalised.

When reporting for 2025 opens, you will be able to download a Word document of all questions in the survey. This is useful if you would like to look at all the questions offline before starting on the survey. Please be aware that there is logic built into the survey, which is explained in the sections below, so not every question appears in the Word version.
