- Selecting ‘Manage only’ shows 1.4b.
- Selecting ‘No’ shows 1.4c.
- Selecting ‘We have multiple premises, and the answer is different for each’ shows 1.4d and 1.4e.
- Selecting ‘Manage only’, ‘No’, or ‘We have multiple premises, and the answer is different for each’ also causes 2.6 in the next section to show.
- Selecting ‘We do not use a premises’ will mean you are not asked any further questions about your building and most of Section 2 – Energy and water and all of Section 5 – Waste will be hidden. 4.6 will also be hidden.
Reason for question
Whether or not your organisation owns/manages their own building/premises generally impacts your ability to make building-based changes, specifically when it comes to energy and utilities. Understanding this can help us give you more tailored support and guidance.
1.4a. If your organisation does not manage its premises, who does?
Please write the name of the organisation/individual who manages your organisation’s premises.
You will see this question if you select ‘Own only’ in 1.4.
Reason for question
It is useful for us to understand who manages your building/premises so we can tailor our feedback and support accordingly. If multiple organisations are in a building/premises run by the same organisation and are all having similar issues, we could recommend a collaborative approach to solving them.
1.4b. If your organisation does not own its premises, who does?
Please write the name of the organisation/individual who owns your organisation’s premises.
You will see this question if you select ‘Manage only’ in 1.4.
Reason for question
It is useful for us to understand who owns your building/premises so we can tailor our feedback and support accordingly. If multiple organisations are in a building/premises owned by the same organisation and are all having similar issues, we could recommend a collaborative approach to solving them.
1.4c. If your organisation does not own and manage its premises, who does?
Please write the name of the organisation who runs and owns your organisation’s premises.
You will see this question if you select ‘No’ in 1.4.
Reason for question
It is useful for us to understand who manages and owns your building/premises so we tailor our feedback and support accordingly. If multiple organisations are in a building/premises owned by the same organisation and are all having similar issues, we could recommend a collaborative approach to solving them.
1.4d. Please explain the setup of the ownership and management of your organisation’s premises. If possible, please indicate which premises your organisation uses the most.
Please use the free text box to write your explanation.
You will see this question if you select ‘We have multiple premises, and the answer is different for each’ in 1.4.
Reason for question
It is useful for us to understand the ownership structure of your buildings/premises so we can tailor our feedback and support accordingly. Also, if multiple organisations are in a building/premises owned by the same organisation and are all having similar issues, we could recommend a collaborative approach to solving them.
1.4e. If possible, please indicate the proportion of your organisation’s time in which you use of each of your sites.
Please add as many rows as you have sites. All the percentages should add up to 100%. For example:
Theatre – 30%
Workshop – 20%
Office – 50%
You will see this question if you select ‘We have multiple premises, and the answer is different for each’ in 1.4.
Reason for question
It is useful to understand the usage ratio so that you see which areas are used more and we can tailor our feedback and support accordingly.
1.5. What is the approximate floor area of the premises your organisation owns and/or uses? Include all floors but not balconies. Please enter a number in square metres.
Please write the value in the box provided in square metres. If your organisation owns/uses multiple premises, please provide the total for all premises.
This is a mandatory question for all organisations that it is shown to.
You will not see this question if you select ‘We do not use a premises’ in 1.4.
Reason for question
This gives us an idea of the size of your operations so we can tailor our feedback and support appropriately. For example, a larger building will likely have much more complex needs around energy consumption.
1.6. Please enter the number of staff who worked for your organisation in the past year in FTE (full-time equivalent).
Please calculate this value accurately and provide the final figure in box provided.
As an example:
Organisation A has two full-time staff who have been employed for the entire reporting period. They have one part-time member of staff who has been working two days a week for the entire reporting period. In the last three months of the reporting period, they hired three part-time members of staff to work one day a week. Therefore, the total FTE = 2 + 0.4 + (0.25 x 3 x 0.2) = 2.55
This is a mandatory question so it should be answered by all organisations that it is shown to.
Reason for question
This gives us an idea of the size of your organisation so we can tailor our feedback and support appropriately. For example, an organisation with a lot of staff is likely to require more buy-in across the organisation but also might have greater capacity for sustainability-focused roles.
