Now in its 12th year, NESCAN Hub, alongside its partners and sponsors, welcomes everyone to the two-week Climate Week North East running from Saturday, 19 September to Sunday, 4 October 2026.
At its heart, Climate Week North East is about showcasing the inspiring climate action already happening across the region. From grassroots community groups to local businesses and organisations, the event highlights the many ways people are making a difference and invites others to be part of that journey.
Whether it’s outdoor activities, guided tours, arts and crafts, family-friendly sessions, film screenings, or workshops, there is something for everyone to enjoy. The CWNE themes reflect a wide range of interests while staying rooted in a common purpose: taking small, achievable steps towards a more sustainable future. Over the years, events have included everything from zero-waste cooking workshops and beach cleans to tree planting, cycling and repair sessions, local walks, library activities and film screenings. Each one offers a simple yet powerful way to contribute to reducing our carbon footprint.
It’s also a time to learn from one another, to share ideas, build connections, and strengthen the collective effort to create a more sustainable North East of Scotland.
We already have a fantastic range of events live on www.climateweeknortheast.org. From hands-on workshops to family days out, there’s already so much to explore, so take a look and start planning which ones you’d like to join.
We invite all interested individuals, groups and organisations to get involved. If you’re planning an event between 19 September and 4 October 2026, this is your opportunity to be part of it and take action that celebrates climate action in all its forms. Get in touch with us at [email protected].
