What IF, food?

Wednesday 30 September

Help us explore how the Buckie area could be changed through food. From what we grow, cook and share, to access, cost, culture and community. This will be a space to think (and play!) creatively about what food means now and what it could make possible next.
Register for 30 September via Ticket Tailor.

What IF, movement?

Wednesday 14 October

Help us explore how moving around the Buckie area could work differently. From buses, bikes and boats to walking, access, connection and getting where you need to go. This will be a space to think (and play!) creatively about how movement shapes everyday life and what better could look like.
Register for 14 October via Ticket Tailor.

What IF, power?

Wednesday 28 October

Help us explore how energy shapes the Buckie area. From bills, warmth, fairness, community resources and power models, to local resources and renewable energy. We will explore who benefits and imagine new ways of thinking about energy. This will be a space to think (and play!) creatively about how energy shapes everyday life and what better could look like.
Register for 28 October via Ticket Tailor.

What IF, belonging?

Wednesday 11 November

Help us explore how energy shapes the Buckie area. From welcome, pride and identity to friendship, connection and feeling at home, this is a space to think creatively about the social ties that shape a place and how they might be strengthened.

What IF, living?

Wednesday 25 November

Help us explore what makes life in the Buckie area meaningful. From culture, creativity and local traditions to housing, leisure and everyday life. This is a space to imagine how people might live well here now and in the future.

What IF, working?

Wednesday 9 December

Do you need support to attend?

Culture for Climate Scotland is committed to ensuring that our events are accessible for everyone, regardless of their disability, race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, economic status or caring responsibility.

We will make any necessary adjustments to our events so that no one is excluded. These adjustments will, most likely, differ from event-to-event and person-to-person, so we need your help to get it right. In the past, we have provided quiet spaces, British Sign Language interpreters and internet dongles for portable internet access.

Some adjustments may take more time to arrange than others, so we appreciate you giving us as much notice as possible about what you need so that we can support you to get the most out of this event.

Please inform us of your accessibility requirements for this event during the registration process. If you have any questions or concerns, please send an email to [email protected] or telephone +44 (0)131 243 2760 and speak to a member of staff.

About Sea Change

Sea Change is a two-year project placing climate action and creative practice at the heart of community life in Buckie. Working with embedded artist Gabby Morris and partners across the town, the project confronts how climate change is already affecting those who live, work and play here, and how creativity can help us respond with proactive and positive solutions.

The Buckie partnership is a collective of community and cultural organisations involved in the Sea Change project in Buckie and includes the Findochty and Buckie Development Trust, The Hub by Buckie Area Forum, TSIMoray, MorayCAN, Findhorn Bay Arts.

Culture for Climate Scotland is leading Sea Change in partnership with NatureScot, the Scottish Government and the Open University, with funding from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and NatureScot.

About Gabby Morris

Gabby Morris works creatively across Scotland at the intersection of climate change, the environment, coastal futures and collective imagination. Her work focuses on creating experiential, imaginative and engaging ways for people to explore what coastal futures might look and feel like. She is particularly interested in how creativity can open up new perspectives, spark conversation, and amplify individual agency in decision making and policy change.
